The Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA) is the center for high-performance computing, communications and advanced services used by the Scientific Community of Galicia, the University System of Galicia and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
CESGA works through two institutions:
Fundación Centro Tecnolóxico de Supercomputación de Galicia (CESGA Foundation).
Sociedade Anónima de Xestión Centro de Supercomputación de Galicia (S.A.X. CESGA).

CESGA Foundation is a non-profit Institution whose employers belong to the Xunta de Galicia and CSIC.
S.A.X. CESGA, a Limited Company, is owned by Xunta de Galicia and CSIC, with 70% and 30% of the capital, respectively.
S.A.X CESGA stems from the commitment of the Government of Galicia(Xunta de Galicia) to promote common support services for research activities conducted by the scientific community of Galicia and second, the interest of the Spanish National Research Center(CSIC) to promote a work environment in the area of high-performance computing, communications and advanced services in the Information Society.
AIMS AND FUNCTIONS
CESGA Foundation: Aims: to promote, disseminate and render high performance computing and communications services to the research communities in Galicia and CSIC, as well as to those companies or institutions which request them, improving, this way, the competitiveness among companies by means of technological development and innovation.
To supply high performance computing and advanced communication services to the users.
To administrate the Science and Technology network of Galicia.
To promote and develop the cooperation among companies and institutions.
Aims: to promote support services for reseach, development and innovation in the field of IT and communications both in Galicia and the scientific community of CSIC.
Thus, S.A.X. CESGA tries to innovate and improve its high performance computing and advanced communication services as well as favouring those activities that contribute to the knowlege society.
To promote and disseminate the use of high performance computing technologies and advanced communications.
To promote and disseminate the use of technologies related to the knowledge society, including e-business, e-learning and geographical information systems.
