The necessary hardware/software tools and expertise for the generation and analysis of georeferenced data are available at CESGA. GIS analysis applications have been developed relating to the generation of potential risk prevention maps, the optimization of transportation routes, environmental impact studies, interactive dynamic on-line GIS applications, etc.

e-Business Area – Competence Centre in Electronic Commerce
The Competence Center in Electronic Commerce emerged as a result of the European project e-MINDER. It is a project belonging to the IST program (Information Society Technologies), which was promoted in Galicia by the Supercomputing Center of Galicia (CESGA). Other eight associated centers from Spain, Poland and Cyprus participated in it. The project was centered on the undertaking of situation studies and activities supporting the SMEs in the peripheral European regions.
